South Florida EMS Forum, May 29th

FAREMS is hosting a South Florida EMS Forum May 29th in Bowling Green at the South Florida State College, Hardee Campus. Presentations will be given on critical access ERs and the national drug shortage. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss local EMS issues with neighboring rural EMS agencies.

EMS Week Golf Tournament Proceeds to FAREMS

Lifeguard Ambulance of Columbia County hosted an EMS Week Golf Tournament at the Country Club at Lake City on Thursday, May 23rd. Proceeds of the inaugural tournament will go to FAREMS to support EMT and paramedic scholarships and training programs. Thank you, Lifeguard, for supporting FAREMS!

North Central Florida EMS Forum a Success!

On May 21, 2013, FAREMS hosted the North Central Florida EMS Forum at the Starke Golf & Country Club in Starke. 19 people were in attendance and the BBQ was great! Speakers presented on the national drug shortage and how to get involved and find resources at the State Department of Health and the EMS Advisory Council.

FAREMS 2012 Survey Report

The 2012 Rural Florida EMS Agency Survey report is now available for download. Key findings include: Very low staff turnover rate (2.9% overall); Use of outside billing service is up nearly 100% (69% of respondents); 84% of respondents indicate their community needs primary care resources/access.
